Right now, people are living in a world that is constantly changing and moving an increasingly faster pace. Even though it looks like that these modifications can benefit us, so many people are going through high pressure and are not enjoying life. This is happening as a result of job insecurity and concerns that we won’t have adequate money to pay for the bills. As a result of this, we may notice health problems (which include asthma, bronchitis, diabetes and many more) or issues with our relationships that need to be dealt with. Meditation along with appropriate breathing might be extremely beneficial in these instances as you will discover in the rest of this post.

Meditation was once viewed as a mysterious practice that people would discover in isolated mountain retreats. Today, you can find people all over the world who meditate daily. All you are required to do is take time to go somewhere quiet and be there alone. Utilizing a particular technique is not required as long as you uncover something that matches your needs and you do it on a regular basis.

And once you begin to meditate on a regular basis, you’ll experience a general sense of being calm as you go about your daily activities. You could possibly observe that small issues don’t frustrate you and that you don’t allow things reach you as much as they used to. Most importantly, your breath patterns need to come to be slow and peaceful one to collect more carbon dioxide and O2 in tissues.

This can happen as you integrate the deep breathing practices of meditation which enable you to handle stress more effectively only when you do them quite slowly in order to accumulate more CO2 in the airways. Contrary to this, your natural breathing may turn into too large (hyperventilation) and thoracic if you suffer stress and this is what can lead to anxiety attacks and cough. For additional evidence on the subject of diaphragmatic breathing, visit these webpages: Persistent cough remedies as well as Best natural cough suppressants.

Meditating will enable you to do something to alter the case. One other change that should also become evident is how considerably more alert you feel as some of your normal stamina comes back.

Meditation helps your body to slow down in another way than you do when you sleep. Meditation can even help in getting that all important good night’s sleep. Meditation could help to replace several of the hours of rest you’ve skipped in case you have had a restless night as well as causing you to be quieter before the nights ahead.

A lot of meditation practitioners discover that they are more inventive shortly after meditating. This is most likely because of the method that meditation calms the mind allowing for the innovative side to come out. If you’re looking for a solution for a challenging problem in your life, meditation may be a great assistance. It’s a superb suggestion to capture on paper any tips that enter your mind during this time so you will not forget them later on.

If you want to experience more desirable health and an improved sense of relaxation, go ahead and take the time to add frequent meditation lessons to your daily life.

Get pragmatic knowledge about the topic of reverse phone search – please make sure to read this web site. The times have come when proper info is really only one click of your mouse, use this chance.

Can Gluten or Dairy intolerance cause an uncontrollable “addiction” to those foods?

I have terrible digestive problems including bloating, nausea, flatulence, loose stools, very tired after eating etc. but the worst thing is uncontrollable hunger. It feels more like an addiction to gluten/carby foods – cereals, bread, crackers etc. not necessarily unhealthy, but I keep craving them after eating, even when my stomach is full. Could this indicate a food intolerance, or am I just greedy? I am also putting on weight and have to do a lot of exercise to avoid getting fat. Any advice welcome!

Your not addicted but when you eat your body isn’t absorbing the nutrients so its telling you that you are still hungry which makes you eat more.

It used to be commonly thought that only skinny people could have celiac because when their body didn’t absorb the nutrients or any thing else from the food they could never gain any weight.

Doctors have begun to realize that it works the other way to, and that people gain weight because their body kept telling them to eat more and more. I had this problem and when I cut all gluten out of my diet I noticed that I didn’t have to eat as much food to fill up as I used to and I started loosing weight.

If I were you I would cut out gluten immediately and within the week you should notice a big difference in your diet and your digestive problems will go away.

Food intolerance question?

I have bad bloating due to IBS. I thought that wheat was the main cause of this so I stopped eating it. After a couple of weeks I took a food intolerance test at Holland & Barrett. It came up with cow’s milk, tomatoes, MSGs and various e numbers. Wheat did not test positive. I was told to keep off the wheat for another 2 weeks and then reintroduce it. It made me bloat but there were no other symptoms. I then gave up milk, tomatoes and e numbers. I’ve so far only reintroduced milk which again only made me bloated. Am I intolerant to wheat ? Does all food that just makes me bloated mean I’m intolerant to them (beans, brocolli etc)? Or do they have to make me ill as well? Hope I’m making sense!
When I spoke to doctor she just said to stop having fizzy drinks & veg with dark leaves. She didn’t seem interested so I doubt I would be able to get proper tests done.

You definitely need different tests / opinions. H&B is not enough and if your GP is not helpful then insist on seeing someone else that takes you seriously.
You might also consider a more holistic approach via e.g. Kinesiology, homeopathy etc.
A good Health Kinesiolgist can often pinpoint and eliminate food/substance allergies (google the term).

Btw: MSG is a terrible substance. Allergy or not you should definitely stay far, far away from it -> it is known to cause obesity apart from being often the culprit in histamine reactions

FOOD INTOLERANCE- a few questions?

admin answers:

1. Yes, and you can do it at home, no problem.
2. A doctor
3. Yes

Food intolerance happens with any food or drink that does not contain a protein. In order to be allergic to anything, it must contain a protein. That is the big difference.

A very simple test can tell you if you have an intolerance or an allergy. Sit in a chair for about 5 minutes and let your pulse stabilize. Take your pulse for a full 60 seconds (not 15 x 4 thing). Do this twice to make sure your pulse is stable and reads the same beats.

Now, put the food or thing you want to test in your mouth and chew it for 30 seconds. Spit it out or swallow it and then take your pulse again for another 60 seconds.

If your pulse is more than 6 beats faster, you are intolerant to the food or drink. If the food or drink contains a protein, they you are allergic to it. If you happen to have type “O” blood, then use 4 pulse beats as the criteria.

You don’t need a dermatologist to tell you if you have an allergy or intolerance; simply use that test and it is very effective. It was designed by a doctor and really works every time.

Depression and anxiety can happen from excess stress, but it is how you deal with stress that is the key. We all get stressed from time to time, but learning how to deal with stress is the key. Having nutritional deficiencies and eating or drinking garbage food can create depression or anxiety. Taking drugs is NOT the solution to those problems.

Watch these videos to see why drug companies should be ashamed and any doctor that prescribes drugs to deal with these problems is either getting paid handsomely to do that, has an agenda for profit, or is just simply ignorant.

Do your homework before going to doctors looking for solutions they have to offer. More people are being killed by doctors than any single major disease in America today. The iatrogenic problems are rampant due to drugs, poor diagnosis’s, bad science, and major indoctrination by drug companies of doctors and patients.

Good luck to you

admin answers:

This is common for children, but not too often found in adults. Food sensitivity is different from a food allergy too. Most commonly this happens when someone eats a leftover and it’s been left out too long or put away too soon. When this happens someone can be sensitive to the same food they ate before. Bacteria grows this way, grows in the food overnight and when you eat it you can become ill. Since you left out any type symptoms you’re suffered from it’s too hard to say what might have happened in your specific case. Please note any for your question or the doctor if it ever comes down to it again. There is a website that you might find the answer. Go to webmd.com and enter food intolerance in the search area and choose which link you want. Good luck and God Bless

Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching
Monistat over-the-counter

Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
See a doctor

I’ve never had any luck with smearing plain yogurt on a pad, tea tree oil or garlic.

Consider going on a yeast-free diet, no sugar (as sugar feeds yeast), no alcohol – so no cakes, candy, sweets, etc.

*Avoid tight jeans and other tight pants
*Wear cotton underwear during the day, no thongs
*Wear no underwear to bed

Here’s some things to try if it’s a topical yeast infection. I’ve tired the first two and know they work:

1. Put a tsp of apple cider vinegar in a 6-8 ounce glass of water and drink it 2-3 times a day.

2. Mix a tsp of Hydrogen Peroxide in a cup of water and pour over the area 2-4 times a day.

3. Fill a bathtub with just enough warm, not hot, water to create a sitz bath (enough water to cover your groin and just up to your belly). Add 2 cups of raw apple cider vinegar and sit in the bath with your knees folded toward your body (not stretched out flat). You can stay in this bath mixture for 15 minutes. Gently pat dry and make sure you are very dry before putting any clothes on. Wear only cotton underpants, preferably washed in natural unscented detergent.

Feeding, probably not, but yes there is something very easy to do.

Ours was prone to it too, and he’d get a huge buildup of waxy stuff as well. I started using a swab of 50/50 diluted vinegar (in water) to wipe out his ears once a week. I used a wadded kleenex for it, and made sure to get down as far as my finger and the kleenex would allow. This changed the acidity in the ear enough to stop the infections. Once a week is fine, or you can do it twice a week, but definately not every day.

It’s hormone changes that likely bring on the yeast, don’t ask me why but it happens. Try cranberry juice if it’s in your bladder. If it still persists, a CandidaGone cleanse or yeast cleanse kit might help you, follow the directions and eat the right foods. Cleanses usually available at health food stores, or those that sell those type of products. Candida is basically related to yeast, so that cleanse would kill yeast too.

I’ve tested this theory and proven it true. If I eat a lot of McDonalds (at least 4 times a week) I’ll have constant, chronic yeast infections. Once I cut down on my McDonalds intake they go away.

This isn’t psychological. What gives? Anyone else notice this?
Last time I ate McDonalds was in February 2009. So far no more infections. Weird.

Oh and Double Quarter Pounders with cheese break me out in hives.

Ford owners run their mouths trying to look good because they have a lot of time to think of what they are going to say to the Chevy owners while their cars are in for repairs. Ford owners hate all GM owners because stock, the only Ford that can beat a stock GM is a Mustang Cobra, not even the GT500 could beat a Z28 Camaro. Of course, if the Ford owner actually babied their car like the GM owner does and then built it up, then maybe the Ford would beat the GM and they woul finally have room to run their mouths a little more. From experience, the only Ford that has beat my 13 second WS-6 was an SVO Mustang (turbo charged).

How common and interchangeable are Ford parts?

I am living in Chile and I am in the process of buying a Ford Escape 2008 petrol 2.3. However, I will be moving to South Africa later this year, and I was planning to take the vehicle. I learned that Ford South Africa does not sell Ford Escape but sells instead Ford Territory and Ford Ranger. How common are the parts of Ford Escape with the other Ford ranges available in Africa and how easy will be to source parts?

admin answers:

It depends on the parts you are looking for. Any petrolium burning 2.3L Ford engine will interchange parts almost 100% based on the production run of the engine. If the engine was built in 2008 than almost any 2.3L from 2005-present should interchange parts very readily. Suspension componants tend to differ from model to model so it would be difficult to find parts such as control arms and things of that nature. The brake system may have the same componants as the ranger or territory but you would have to research that in great detail and make sure the part numbers are EXACTLY the same. Hope that helps.

admin answers:

Most parts on new vehicles are not made by the vehicle manufacturer themselves, but by other companies that supply them. The manufacturer puts these parts together and makes a car. If a car company were to go out of business, these suppliers would still be able to provide replacement parts, and other companies would also provide aftermarket versions ot the parts.

Even if a car company was to go bankrupt, that bankruptcy would be a reorganization, not a liquidation. They would still be in business.

Dealers are independent business. If the company were to close (not likely) the dealer could still exist as a private shop. Other shop can also work on your vehicle, so you have nothing to fear there.

Do not let fear of the future of the auto industry keep you from buying the car that suits your needs.

If you suffer from yeast infection then you must have experienced the
confusion stemmed from conflicting advice and from information overload.
Honest information about vaginal yeast infection or any other type of
candida infection is harder to come by than ever before, and nearly
everyone has been misled at one time or another. I know I have.
I wasted literally thousands of dollars on candida treatment programs
that didn’t “work out” and anti-yeast infection products that didn’t do
anything.

By educating yourself about the steps you need to take in order to deal with
your candida infection condition and help your body heal itself and control
the fungal overgrowth from the inside out you can and will eliminate the pain,
annoyance, humiliation and frustration associated with this condition and feel
more in control. Additionally, as a side benefits you’ll feel more energized,
healthier and vibrant. You will enjoy improved digestion, enhanced vision,
and healthier hair, skin and nails.

Knowledge is power. Embrace it. Share it and apply it and you will be yeast
infection free.

Sometimes your body chemistry is not used to your bf’s “invading” outside elements.

Make sure he is clean and showered before sex. Make sure you shower after sex, or at least that you are very very dry before putting your undies back on. I know that if I dont make sure I am dry, I get a yeast infection.

Now, what you have sounds less like yeast infection and mroe like vaginisitis…which is more smelly and less itchy than a yeast infection; they are often confused with one-another. Next time you have symptoms of whatever it might be, it is always good to go to your gyno just to get it checked out and make sure you are healthy down there…and make sure waht you think is a yeast infection is really one. You want to be treating the right thing.

Lastly…be honest about your sexual activity…men can carry a yeast infection and pass it to you so that may be why you keep getting reinfected…he may not have any symptoms but may benefit from using a cream so he stops passing it to you

admin answers:

Causes of yeast infections
there are 2 good reasons to learn a bit about the causes of vaginal yeast infections. First, if you have recurring yeast infections, you can figure out what’s causing them and then work to prevent them, rather than just working to kill the yeast every time they take over. Second, if you know what kinds of things cause you to get yeast infections, you can be alert for symptoms and treat them early on with the generally-milder do-it-yourself remedies, rather than bombarding your body with drugs.

Vaginal yeast infections are caused by Candida albicans, which, along with a few types of bacteria, are normally present in relatively small numbers in your crotch. Sometimes the yeast multiply rapidly and take over, causing a full-fledged yeast infection, or, in the heart-warming terminology of the medical establishment, candidiasis or monilia. This can be due to a change in the vaginal environment, injury, sexual transmission, or HIV. Common environmental disruptions that favor yeast include increased pH, increased heat and moisture, allergic reactions, elevated sugar levels, hormonal fluxes, and reductions in the populations of bacteria that are normally present. These can generally be traced to a few categories of culprits:

antibiotics are probably the leading cause of vaginal yeast infections in american wimmin, and are a great example of the important principle that by using technology to solve problems, we create other problems. Say you take an antibiotic to cure your sinus infection. The antibiotic kills the unwanted bacteria in your sinuses, but can also kill the “good” bacteria in your crotch, upsetting the balance of your vaginal ecosystem, allowing the yeast to take over. (antibacterial deodorant soap can have the same effect.) most wimmin have problems with only a few types of antibiotics, or with prolonged antiobiotic treatment. Others get yeast infections every time they take antibiotics. Unfortunately, i know of no way of preventing an antibiotic-induced yeast infection; you just have to treat it once it starts.

Clothing: crotch yeasties flourish in non-cotton, tight, or dirty clothes that trap heat and moisture. No doubt Xena, Warrior Princess, gets infections all the time from that leather underwear. Your absolutely best bet is to wear a skirt with no underwear or tights, and definitely avoid pantyhose. If you’ve ever had an urge to go for that sexy thigh-high stocking look but have been too shy, here’s the excuse you’ve been looking for. And if you do wear underwear, your safest bet is unbleached, undyed cotton underwear and breathable clothes. It’s a good idea to change your underpants regularly, like maybe once a day. If at all possible, don’t sleep in underwear; if you do, put on clean stuff. Yeast can live in your underwear, so be sure to wash it well, particularly during and after a yeast infection. Some medical types think that when you have a yeast infection, you should wash and dry your underwear and then iron it or throw it in the microwave on high for 5 min to kill the yeast. On the other hand, check out this testimonial: “I wanted to alert your readers that putting underwear in the microwave for 5 minutes is a VERY BAD IDEA… I went off to finish my nightly ablutions, leaving the underwear nuking away. I came back to a little black melted pile and an incredibly difficult to clean microwave.” there you have it. I personally am going to stick to ironing.

Chemicals, such as inks, dyes, and perfumes, can upset the balance in your crotch or trigger allergic reactions that lead to yeast infections. The classic example is commercial douches, which have no benefits and are definitely harmful to the vaginal environment and your health. You know those odor-causing bacteria that their products help you get rid of? Well, they’re the same bacteria that kill the yeast in your crotch! On top of that, soaps are not only disruptive to the vaginal environment, but can damage your mucus membranes. You should never soap your crotch. But there are other, less obvious sources of nasty chemicals. For example, i’ve had serious problems with those nasty colored, perfumed toilet papers, like Charmin; 5 days of that and i am yeast central. If you think that’s your problem, try an unscented, undyed toilet paper, like Scott. Even better, use a recycled, unbleached eco brand. Similarly, some laundry detergents and fabric softeners have allergenic dyes and perfumes; i invariably get yeast infections from underwear washed in Liquid Tide, and a friend of mine gets them from underwear washed in Wisk. Again, try an eco brand, or something like Arm & Hammer fragrance free detergent. Additives in bubble baths or bath salts, scented tampons or sanitary pads, or (heaven forbid) feminine deodorant sprays, can similarly trigger yeast infections.

Condoms can promote yeast infections in two different ways. First, a lot of condoms come packaged with a lubricant that contains no

how to keep a dog’s ears yeast-free?

i have a 5 year old yellow lab. he’s had chronic otitis (ear problems) since he was a puppy. we’ve been to 6 or 8 vets with this problem, tried every kind of ointment, antibiotics, and allergen-free food, and still can’t seem to keep his ears clean. would appreciate suggestions from anyone who’s managed to figure this out.

allergen free dog food?

My parents dog has a ridiculous amount of allergies. She is allergic to (amongst other things):
eggs
corn
wheat
rice
oatmeal
barley
brewer’s yeast
carrots
peas

My parents have been looking for a pre-made dog food since they’re tired of making their own but most of the allergen-free dog foods I’ve come across have one of the above ingredients.
She can have white potato, chicken, rabbit, venison, beef, turkey, and other things if that helps.
Anyone have any ideas?

(Thanks!)
thanks for the suggestions about allergy testing. She’s already had a detailed allergy test done which is how we know all the specifics of what she’s allergic too. I’ll check out the other suggestions – thanks so much!

Allergies are an immune response. My suggestion to you is that you also start trying to boost the immune system. The first step is to get her on a great diet. Raw, by far (really far) is the best. Although domesticated for thousands of years, a dog’s gut still works the same as the wolf. They have the acids, enzymes and flora that are designed to digest raw meat and bones. A balanced raw diet will cure most, if not all of your dog’s problems. I live in FL where we have a flea problem year round. In my house there are 7 cats and 3 dogs, non of which need treatment for fleas. They don’t need any chemicals (which will also cause immune problems and cause allergies) because they are so healthy, they repel fleas on their own. Raw foods are not compromised by the cooking process. Once food is cooked over 120 degrees, all the enzymes, vitamins and minerals are cooked out. That’s why the last half of the ingredients list on ANY canned or dry dog food, is all synthetic vitamins, minerals and enzymes. That’s like eating fast food all the time and trying to make up for it by taking One-A-Day vitamins. Is it any wonder why our dogs and cats suffer from obesity, bladder stones, diabetes, hypertension, irritable bowel disorders, gas, loose stools, skin problems, allergies, and so on. Dog food companies have had 60 years to make our dogs healthier, and they have failed. The proof is in the vet bills.

I would add a good, cold water, fish-based (not fish liver) oil. The omega-3 fatty acids, balanced with the omega-6 in animal meats, will act as an anti inflammatory and help ease the allergic reaction.

To start, I would also add pre and probiotics, and digestive enzymes. Most of the immune system is located in the GI tract, where nutrients are absorbed (have you seen the DanActive commercial?). When the workings of the gut flora become imbalanced, often you see allergic reaction. Adding these supplements will help the dog’s insides to normalize.

Below are some foods that don’t have what’s on your list. You can go to the web sites to view the ingredients.

For canned:

another dog food question…canidae salmon grain free?

I’ve been searching for a dry dog food to fit both dogs (1 year old american bulldog roxy and 6 month old pit dax) I am currently on nutro ultra which is no good according to vast research on dog food analasys and long hours on the floor of the surronding 25 miles of feed stores and pet specialty stores I’ve discovered the ingredients are not good and the food is over priced I want what’s best for my dogs on a budget I can afford and meeting quality requirements I desire, that being said I’ve came to canidae grain free salmon dry dog food. I was wondering what you all think if anyone feeds it and do you think protien level is too high go to the canidae website and check it out. And if they’re too high and I go ahead with it what circumstances do I face if its just energetic dogs that’s fine but I’ve heard kidney problems and that’s not ok. Also roxy has skin issues to name a few… yeast infections in her vaginal area, between pads of feet in ears on stomoch under chin, also compat anal constipation and loose stool never regular bowels. And there’s been more! These have decreased since switching to nutro ultra but I know they can be less if not gone. I have had her to plenty of vets they have mostly reccomended benedryl or some type of pill or special medicated diet, no thanks! I know that there’s a food out there that can help her I just haven’t found it. If anyone has had any real experience with this please lend your advice. I’ve never had such a ‘sensitive’ dog. Oh and no raw diet time consuming and don’t have room to store enough meat to buy bulk

admin answers:

You’re right that raw is indeed the best, but if you’re not ready for it (though it’s not as complicated as it initially seems), then yes, definitely feed a premium grain-free food.

I fed Taste of the Wild High Prairie (buffalo) and though my dog did “fine” on it, he did TERRIFIC on raw prey model, most noticeably in his gastric system – no more flatulence, less stool, more compact, dry stool, and the stool had almost 0% smell to it – on kibble, even a high-quality kibble, he farted up a storm, it stank to high Heaven, and he constantly had semi-soft, stinky stools.

I wouldn’t be terribly concerned about kidney disease, to be honest with you. Yes, the protein levels are higher, but a healthy dog is designed to metabolize a high-protein diet – they’re carnivores, after all.

It’s unfortunate that veterinarians in this country are taught to TREAT conditions with drugs and whatnot, instead of practicing the appropriate preventative care and treating symptoms with natural cures and backtracking to determine the CAUSE, not just obtusely treat the EFFECT.

I’ve not used Canidae, but their grain-free variety is supposed to be quite good. I recommend you at least try it, and I would absolutely supplement your dogs’ diets with raw food occasionally (though never fed WITH kibble, as they are digested at different rates and due to gas build-up from kibble, you don’t want to risk a bloat). Give them a chicken breast or drumsticks now and then, and a meaty cattle bone now and then for premium dental health.

I hope this is helpful to you – good luck with your dogs! : )

Do you have experience treating skin eruptions with Skin Irritation #94 (Homeopathy)?

If you do or you could suggest other homeopathic treatments, please let me know. I do not use any OTC remedies or Rx drugs, so please no advice to go in that direction.

I am in a great deal of pain right now. I have had this skin problem on my right index finger that I suspect is a Candida problem and am treating myself with a yeast cleanse system. It is worse when my hands get hot and/or wet from the dishwater, so I use gloves but the heat still penetrates. My joints in that hand are really hurting as well. It comes and goes in severity and occasionally I have a sharp stinging pain.Grapefruit seed extract seems to help the rash, but I have to use it straight and undiluted (or else it doesn’t work),which burns the skin around it a little, but then it comes back.

I cannot get in to see a doctor till Monday, so I wondered if anyone has treated symptoms like these with Skin Irritation #94 or Cantharsis (Spanish Fly), and if you think Arnica will help dull the pain.

Thanks for your help.
Thank you jewelair! I do already take 2 tablespoons each day of raw apple cider vinegar on my raw cabbage salad. I’ll continue too. Again, thanks!

I used to get a rash on my right ring finger. It sounds to be different than what you are experiencing, but maybe this will work for you. Mine would itch a lot and develop little tiny blisters. I found that taking about 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar a day helped.

symptoms of yellow discharge and foul odor?

For the last 6 weeks or so Ive been suffering with a horrible fishy smelling yellow discharge. At first my doc said it was bacterial vaginosis, but the treatments didnt work and the test came back negative.
admin answers:

There is definitely something going on that is ‘not right’!

My one suggestion is to get another opinion.
However, maybe you did not stay on the medication long enough,
Some vaginal infections are resistant to treatment.
Also, maybe you need to try a different medication.
Some medications work better for some people .

You did not say whether you are sexually active?
Could it be possible that you might have an STD.?
Altho, the gynecologist probably tested for this when you went.

But, maybe it is about time you seek another opinion.
Don’t wait.

Edit

I had similar symptoms many years ago and it turned out to be an infection of the cervix.
Discharge and foul odor.
(Forgot to mention this when I originally answered your question.)
They can treat this sometimes by antibiotics, altho, the gynecologist cauterized my cervix to destroy the infected tissue. (A little uncomfortable but it did clear the infection.

You need to investigate this further, possibly with another gynecologist.
This can lead to more serious complications if not treated.

thanks for the input (i just asked a ? On candida myself a few minutes ago and you replied)… I am actually referring to intestinal candida too. I just started the diet on saturday, and it wasn’t until last night that i began feeling so sh*^%$
i’m wondering if i should ease up on the herbal remedies for awhile and stick with the diet restrictions for a few weeks first?
No, i’m not on nystatin… Just lots of garlic, goldenseal, and pau d’arco (all tinctures). They’re supposed to essentially be the same as nystatin in terms of potency from what i’ve heard. So far, it’s been intense. I started feeling better the first day, but now i must be going through that die-off phase.

I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. I am interested to hear others experiences with the disease, because I don’t think mine is normal. But my symptoms were weight loss, insomnia, depression, fatigue, anxiety, infections, brittle hair, candida that won’t respond to treatment, diarrhoea, nausea and thats about all I can think of for now.
Sounds like something else going on…you should have your pituitary function tested. Pituitary dysfunction can cause hypothyroid (fatigue, dry hair, dry skin, hair falling out) and hypoadrenal (diarrhea, nausea, fatigue) which seem to be where your symptoms are falling. Have your endo do a cortisol test to check adrenal function as well as all other pituitary functions. Once you are hypothyroid, you will need to be on thyroid meds for a lifetime.

Mysterious Instant Stomach Troubles

Going to be as brief as possible: 21, male, healthy. Large build 230, 6’2. Drank wine a bit consistently for 5-6 months, no problems. Drank other hard liquor in the past, no problems. Tried Gin on June 6th, half a bottle (Seagram’s Extra Dry mixed with lemon juice and ginger ale..I don’t usually mix, was doing so for fun). Immediately noticed I had to keep taking deep breaths/out of breath sensation, stopped. Not sure if the Japanese food (sushi etc.) could’ve had an impact. Drank Jack Daniels and rot gut vodka before, so it was not a matter of tolerance or alcohol exposure.

Next day woke up to a feeling below the throat, felt like a constant need to cough. Went to the doctor…EKG, Chest X-Ray, Barium Swallow, Spirometer/Flow Meter (lung test), Gallbladder Liver scan, all negative. Endoscopy showed a very very small 3-4 cm sliding hiatal hernia, deemed asymptomatic (does not produce symptoms) as it was so small it didn’t even show on the Barium Swallow X-ray. Endoscopy showed no irritation, irregularities or inflammation. Allergy tests showed nothing, Clarinex did nothing.

Symptoms are: Constant cough/irritation between collar bones, murky/powdery stools (as if you were to flush powder from the bottom of the toilet bowl and it billows up), sinus congestion, excessive burping, extreme fatigue, minor heart palpitations, yellow/white coated tongue, hurts to take a deep breath. Spaced out/tired after eating, worse than the “after turkey meal feeling”. Excessive salivation/sweet tasting salivation. Hear an intermittent sound like gas escaping through my esophagus to my neck when I lie down. No heartburn whatsoever. Odd sour taste at back of mouth.

No history of any problems, no history of hypochondria, not psychological (Ativan and other sedatives did nothing). Antibiotics did nothing.

A homeopath suggested Nux Vomica, did nothing but calm me mentally.

Acid reflux/GERD was suggested, took Prilosec, Zantac, Pepcid AC, no effect. Moved to PPI’s (strongest stuff they got), Protonix/Aciphex/Zegerid, did nothing.

It has been 2 months, the symptoms persist despite diet changes. Suggestions regarding a decrease in weight were made. Factors of environment include mold under my water bed that has grown over the years due to frequent popping of the tubes. A plan to replace the bed is underway. It has been suggested that the mold is causing this, or perhaps a Candida Albicans yeast overgrowth, however, the reaction to the Gin was sudden, instant, and very acute. I felt no symptoms whatsoever prior to consumption.

5 doctors, a gastroenterologist, a pulmonary specialist, 10 health coach’s/nurses from the insurance company, a renowned medical researcher, and a famous health expert who exposed a pharmaceutical scam had no clue whatsoever, and were completely baffled.

I have gotten some guidance from a Chinese medicine woman/acupuncturist and am undergoing treatment through TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine).

Nevertheless, I am asking for your opinions. Do not tell me I have “GERD” or “acid reflux disease”, those ailments are not diseases, and my symptoms/tests defy such a diagnosis. I am more knowledgeable about Acid Reflux/GERD than most doctors at this point, and I know I don’t have it. I know every test used to detect it, and every “health tip” recommended for it, so don’t waste my time or yours by spamming it.

I am looking for alternative causes.

I am in no way a medical professional, but I have to respond because I have twice in my life had conditions that could not be diagnosed. Both eventually were, but what a horror show until then.

My first thought on reading as far as your instant reaction to the gin potion was allergy. Short of a pre-existing condition, I can’t think of anything, other than a poison, that could act that fast.

As I read further, I was going to mention mold but then you did. Mold is insidious. Mold can cause hundreds of nasty symptoms. That you had been sleeping on it for god knows how long means that you were breathing it in all that time even though you didn’t know it was there. I don’t know if there is a medical specialty in mycology but it might be a place to start.

Also, consider that what’s going on may have been caused by more than one condition or more than one allergen or mold or … If the gin event was an allergy, maybe it triggered nasty mold spores that had been hidden in your larynx.. I mean, I’m just throwing out ideas here, but it could be two or three different maladies.

In any case, don’t give up. There is a doctor who knows what it is and has at least an idea how to cure it.

Good luck.

A food allergy is a fast response (minutes) by the body’s immune system to a perceived invader. Signs or symptoms are generally immediate, dramatic and visible: coughing, sneezing, vomiting, migraines, watering eyes, rashes, swelling tissue, hives – or in severe cases, an anaphylactic shock which requires emergency intervention and can lead to death if not treated promptly. However other symptoms like the gastro-intestinal responses nausea, vomiting and diarrhea can be delayed for hours or even days.

Food intolerance on the other hand is rather slow onset reaction, hours, days or even weeks. It is an inability to process a particular food. It is also thought to be an immune system response. The gastro-intestinal tract in some people is simply unable to produce appropriate enzymes for normal chemical breakdown. The food passes through unprocessed, or lingers in the gut fermenting producing excess ‘gas’. In some cases protein fragments rupture the lining of the intestine allowing foreign particles into the bloodstream. Symptoms of food intolerance are much more delayed, less dramatic and lifestyle threatening rather than life threatening. They generally manifest as nutritional deficiencies that develop over time. If left untreated however they can lead to serious illness and tissue damage.

They do have tests for some food intolerances, though the tests are not all that accurate. The best way to see if something you are eating is bothering you is to stop and see if your symptoms go away. If they do, then eat a lot of it and see if they come back.

If something bothers you, you can stop eating it, regardless if it is diagnosed by a test.

The York Food Scan Test is the best. Expensive but worth it I’m sure. Doctors mainly test for true allergies such as peanut, shellfish etc. As well as digestive diseases i.e coelliac. It’s rare that you’ll find a doctor that will test you for an intolerance to foods. They are much more likely to test and give you results for true allergies.
Holland and Barret health food store do an intolerance test but I’ve heard that this isn’t 100% accurate.
Something else you could do is to stop eating the foods you suspect you could be intolerant to for a couple of weeks, and slowly introduce them back into your diet one at a time, taking note of any symptoms after having eaten the food. You can test which foods you could be intolerant to by keeping a food diary and noting any symptoms you get up to 24 hours after eating the suspected food. However if you eat a lot of different foods in one day it may be harder to pinpoint which foods are causing the intolerance.

Hope this helps.

admin answers:

Food intolerance is a myth!

Real allergies are serious and immediate and you know what you are intolerant to!

Starch in food (often cakes and bread as they are made form refined flour) can make people with acid regulation issues bloat but this is not an intolerance as such.

Avoiding dairy and bread based on myths about intolerance and blood group preferences (mostly American diet guru’s) can lead to a badly balanced diet.

The most often it is caused by acid overproduction in the gut caused by lack of fibre and complex carbs resulting in a slow transit sand bloating.

Eat more complex carbs such as butternut squash broccoli etc and avoid starchy foods such as bread and mashed potato. Also drinking more water will help! It will speed up transit.

Finally the Wind – trying to hold in wind is a major cause of bloating along with insufficient water and too much starch in your diet.

Ignore anyone who called themselves a nutritionist (Dr Gillian McFraud for example, not only is her doctorate a fake one there is no such qualification as a nutritionist. The only true qualification is a dietitian and the advice they give is aboutbalanced food groups and calorie control .

Avice,

Cut out starch (Bread adn Mashed potato)
Drink More water
Eat more balanced
Pass Wind more
Take antacids or Zantac or similar (see Doctor)
Eat more complex carbs..

Yes, your bf may have a yeast infection and he is continuing to reinfect you. This doesn’t mean that he’s been out messing around. He probably got it from having sex with you the first time you were infected and you keep getting treated, but he isn’t so he’s reinfecting you. Your bf needs to go to the doctor and get a culture (which he’s just gonna LOVE…LOL) and if he’s positive for yeast then he needs to get treatment.

No, you can’t get a yeast infection from a public pool. With all the chlorine and chemicals in there to kill any bacteria, fungi and viruses – I think it’s pretty hard to get something.
